Review @marissa_meyer - Cress by Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles #3)

Cress
The Lunar Chronicles #3
by Marissa Meyer

Goodreads blurb:  Even in the future. there are damsels in distress...

In the third installment of the Lunar chronicles, Cress, having risked everything to warn Cinder of Queen Levana's evil plan, has a slight problem. She's been imprisoned on a satellite since childhood and has only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress a great hacker. Unfortunately, she's just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue of Cress involving Cinder, Captain Thorne, Scarlet, and Wolf goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes as a high price. Meanwhile, Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

About the Author:  I live in Tacoma, Washington, with my fiancé and our two cats. In addition to my slight obsession with books and writing, I'm big on road-tripping, wine-tasting, and hunting for antiques. I'm represented by Jill Grinberg.

CINDER, my debut novel, is a futuristic re-envisioning of Cinderella in which Cinder is a cyborg mechanic.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

***I borrowed this book from my high school library, but I will add it to my own library

The cover is very Rapunzel with that long braided hair.

This is the 3rd book in the series.  I recommend reading them in order because you will not know character histories and previous events.  Everything together is definitely worth more than just the sum of the parts.  This is a YA series.

Thorne has definitely grown on me, and I really love Cress.  She is amazing especially with everything she has been through.  I love that all the characters are part of each book as you learn about them.  Cinder is amazing as always and learning more each day.  I can’t wait to see what happens next.

My students highly recommended this series to me, and I confirm this recommendation for any YA book lovers who love a cyborg Cinderella, Scarlet (Little Red Riding Hood) and Wolf, and the newest addition of Rapunzel trapped in the satellite.  I love fairy tales that are remade into something new and unique.
