Twitter or Facebook?
I use both, but I'm plugged into Twitter every day for eight hours (I swear, it's for my job as a sportswriter! - http://connect.nj.com/staff/CharlesCurtis/posts.html).

Favorite Superhero?

I was hooked on Wolverine as a kid. Who doesn't love a sarcastic hero with a murky origin tale, claws and all the best one-liners?

Favorite TV show?

Current: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. All-Time: Seinfeld. Guilty Pleasure: Food Network Star

Sweet or Salty?

I will eat something sweet like a peanut butter cup and follow it up with a salty snack. It's a yin/yang thing I started doing as a teenager.

Coke or Pepsi?

Coke and it's not even close.

Any Phobias?

Three words: Big hairy spiders.

Song you can’t get enough of right now?

I just discovered an artist named Jacob Collier who does these incredible, mostly a cappella arrangements of songs and I'm hooked on his take on the jazz standard "Fascinating Rhythm." Amazing! [link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K28H04Y2IdE]

What are you reading right now or what's on your TBR?

I just started "The Maze Runner" and plan on reading Andy Weir's "The Martian" next.

Fall Movie you’re most looking forward to?

I've watched the Star Wars trailers about 80 times each and geek out. Every. Single. Time.

Boneseeker
Arabella Holmes was born different and raised different. After it became apparent she wouldn’t fit the role of a proper 1900′s lady, her father, Sherlock, called in some lingering favors, and landed her a position at the Mutter Museum. The museum was Arabella’s dream; she was to become a purveyor of abnormal science. What her father called a BoneSeeker.
Henry Watson arrives at the Mutter Museum with a double assignment–to become a finder of abnormal antiquities and to watch over and keep Arabella Holmes. An easy task, if he could only get her to speak to him instead of throwing knives in his general direction.
But this is no time for child’s play. The two teens are assigned to a most secret exploration, when the hand of a Nephilim is unearthed in upstate New York. Soon, Arabella and Henry are caught in a fight for their lives as scientific debate swirls around them. Are the bones from a Neanderthal … or are they living proof of fallen angels, who supposedly mated with humans according to ancient scrolls?
Sent to recover the skeleton, they discover they are the second team to have been deployed and the entire first team is dead. And now they must trust their instincts and rely on one another in order to survive and uncover the truth.

Review @VivianKWood - Evil Abounds by Vivian Wood (An Alpha Guardian prequel)

Evil Abounds
An Alpha Guardians Prequel
by Vivian Wood

Goodreads blurb:  What would you sacrifice to save what you love most?

Dark powers stir the shadows in New Orleans' paranormal underworld. A sociopathic Voodoo king launches a quest for power that may bring the world to its knees. Rather than watch her proud city crumble, ancient priestess Mere Marie forms a plan.

There's just one catch: not just any group of men can defend New Orleans. She needs the fiercest, most valiant bear shifters she can find. Mere Marie will have to bend the laws of time, going back in history to find her warriors.

A Highland Laird, desperate to save his struggling clan. A powerful young sorcerer whose magic brings tragedy into his life. A mysterious champion, betrayed and left to die in a dark cave. Mere Marie offers a single chance at redemption, but at what price?

Witness the beginning of the Alpha Guardians, three mighty shifters sworn to protect and serve. Pulse-pounding action, steamy romance, and sultry bayou nights await...

This book is the prequel to the Alpha Guardians series; it is not intended as a standalone work. These books feature big, brawny werebears and the mouthy, curvy ladies who capture their hearts. We suggest reading these books in order for the greatest enjoyment.

About the Author:  Vivian is an erotic romance writer, and the author of the Red Lodge Bears series, the Werewolf's Harem Series, and the the Louisiana Shifters Series.

Vivian was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Vivian attended a fantastic women's college, at which time she studied creative writing. She now lives in New Orleans.

Vivian has been an autodidact from a young age, and to this day she'll read anything she can get her hands on - back of the cereal box, billboards, whatever. When she's not reading or writing romantic stories, Vivian likes making drinks from her Trader Vic's cocktail recipe book, snuggling her badly behaved dog, and going on daytime adventures in and around New Orleans.

Vivian really enjoys her work, and is always excited to see what's in store next for her beloved characters.

The cover looks intense :)

This is my first time reading Vivian Wood though I’m not sure why I haven’t read her considering I own 15 of her books….lol  Needless to say, I’m going to be reading some more Vivian Wood soon :)

This is a prequel to a series I haven’t started yet.  It basically gives you the background of how the Alpha Guardians have come about.  It was full of backgrounds and details on three bear shifters and a little information about Mere.  I definitely think there is plenty here is peak my interest or anyone else who is into magic and bear shifters, so I can’t wait to read See No Evil and see if I’m right that this series is going to get better as I go.  Usually, I do not read prequels before I at least read book one because sometimes it tends to turn me off on a series, and I’m happy to say, as I made an exception, that it definitely made me want more :)

Vivian’s writing has details galore and makes images jump into my head.  I can’t wait to read more of her work.  This is definitely for readers who like magic, a snarky cat, and bear shifters with tragic stories.

Review @JessaSlade - Rogue by Elsa Jade (Wolves of Angels Rest #3)

Rogue
Wolves of Angels Rest #3
by Elsa Jade

Goodreads blurb:  A soul-wounded, half-feral lone wolf inadvertently saves the town’s shy librarian from invading werewolf hunters and discovers she has the key that could end the hunter threat for good.

About the Author:  Pen name of Jessa Slade,  Introducing Elsa Jade(from Jessa’s website):  It rains a lot here in the Pacific Northwest where I live, and we have lots of jokes about various things “sprouting like mushrooms”, and apparently one of those things is pen names.

This year, I launched a new “me” for reasons. The primary reason being that it amused me, which as far as reasons go, seems as good as any. (If you are an aspiring writer, please do not follow that reasoning.)

So now that Elsa Jade has a few words behind her name, I thought it was time to share her with you

The cover is WOW!!  I want to take Rafe home :)

This was my favorite yet :)  Of course I will be collecting the whole set which I hope will be bundled together in the future :)  This is the 3rd book in this novella series.  Each one is its own story, but they do connect, so I highly recommend reading them all in order so you know who is who and what’s going on :)

I really love Elsa’s writing style because I’m always pulled right into the story and easily connect with the characters.  My heart was breaking for Rafe because I just wanted to hug him and make everything better :)  Shifter books are my favorites, so I really like everything I’ve read so far in this collection.

This story is Rafe and Dare’s story.  Rafe’s story just pulls at your heart especially with the alpha sigil that he was already hurting from losing his dad.  Dare’s story isn’t much better, but her aunt was her saving grace :)  Tons of action and drama to keep anyone entertained :)  I have no idea what story will be next, but I can’t wait to read it :)

I recommend all of the Mating Season Collection stories because I haven’t read one yet that I have enjoyed immensely :)

Review - Shifterella And The Billionaire Bear by Sable Sylvan (The Shifter Princes #1)

Shifterella
And
The Billionaire Bear
The Shifter Princes #1
by Sable Sylvan

Goodreads blurb:  To human waitress Eleanor, the Asher Ball isn't the social event of the season, just another work gig, but when a mysterious older woman dresses curvy Eleanor up, Eleanor becomes the belle of the ball and catches the eye of Aspen Asher, billionaire bear shifter, heir to the Asher Lumber fortune.

Tall, muscular werebear Aspen is tired of attending his mother's balls, but when he meets the short curvy girl who introduces herself as Ella, he knows he's found his fated mate. Kind, hardworking, and stunningly gorgeous, Ella is like nobody else he's ever met in his privileged world, and he knows she's the one.

Of course, Eleanor's stepfamily refuses to allow anyone but their two tall, thin daughters near the shifter prince. Can Eleanor and Aspen find true love while Eleanor's family works against her and tries to keep the two apart?

A turn of events forces Eleanor to live the ball early, before she has a chance to give Aspen her number. Will she ever see Aspen again, and will she get her happily ever after, with the help of a little "magic"?

If you love sassy BBWs, bear shifters rock your world, and standalone novellas with NO cliffhangers are what get you going, then check out the rest of "The Shifter Princes" by Sable Sylvan, exclusively on Amazon.com!

About the Author:  My name is Sable Sylvan, and the only thing I love more than reading hot paranormal romances is writing down my fantasies and sharing them with readers like you. My heroes are strong alpha male shifters who can be grizzly and gruff at times...but when it comes to their mates, they turn into absolute teddy bears. The curvy heroines in my stories can be sassy at times but the bear shifter men who love them will do anything for their fated mates.

"Goldilocks And The Three Bear Shifters" is the first book in my "Bear-y Spicy Fairy Tales" series, set in fictional Port Jameson, Oregon. Each standalone books features a BBW and her bear shifter ménage, a happy ending (no cliffhangers!) complete with an epilogue and a sexy teaser. The books can be read alone and in any order and are all based on popular fairy tales.

If you love fairy tale romances but aren't super into ménages, check out my modern fairy tale series, "The Shifter Princes", a series in which sexy shifter billionaires woo the women they love, each standalone book featuring a modern twist on a classic fairy tale. Expect these books out by August 2015!

If you want to reach me directly, you can email me at SableSylvan@gmail.com . I love connecting with readers as well as other authors.

The cover is very nice to look at ;)

This is a new series and the first book, but it is set in the same world as Bear-y Spicy Fairy Tales.  This is a novella, and it is for adults only due to the steamy content.

This is a Cinderella twist with shifters, and I loved it!  I started reading it and was pulled right into the story, and I couldn’t put it down.  I stayed up way to late reading until I finished.  Eleanor is hard working and down to earth, but she is really kind.  She puts up with a lot from her step-family, but never lets it get her down.  Aspen is the big sexy alpha who is sick of users.  Their story is fun and it was a feel good read.  I was happy and really connected with Ella.  I can’t wait to see what Sable cooks up next, but so far this is my favorite yet :)

I highly recommend this story to those who are lovin’ the fairy tale twists with shifters because this one was great :)

"Jenkins brings edge-of-your-seat adventure to this intriguing new world. I can’t wait to read more!~ New York Times bestselling author Jessica Day George

"Wow....WOW, WOW, WOW! I have no words to describe how much I love this book. Jenkins writes characters who are just so easy to love, and when you love a character it makes the book so much better. And I loved all the characters. Zo, Tess, Joshua and Gryphon. Gryphon is definitely my favorite - but who wouldn't love Gryphon? Of course I do have a soft spot for our heroine, Zo." ~Bri, Blogger @ Once Upon A Twilight

"Nameless destroyed me in the best way possible. The romance was subtle, but written beautifully. The plot was very intriguing and the pacing was spot on. I loved the entire cast of characters, every single one of them added to the story. Trust me when I say you should preorder it, add it to your TBR, request it from your library, do whatever you have to do to get this book in your hands because if you are a YA fantasy fan like me you need this book in your life!" ~Bridget, Blogger @ Dark Faerie Tales

"NAMELESS is epic storytelling at its best. My mind is still reeling from the world that I have just been immersed in and I don't want to leave it. Can I please have the sequel NOW? Because I need to know what happens next but in the meantime I'm just going to re-read it again and again. Is it that good, you may ask? Hell yes!!! And you will think so too. Trust me." Nancy, Blogger @ Tales of A Ravenous Reader

"To say that I love this book is an understatement. It completely blew me away! I am so happy that I took a chance on it. NAMELESS is one book that you can re-read over and over again and it will still feel fresh! I cannot wait for the world to read it and fall under the NAMELESS spell. Because that’s what I feel like I am under, a spell that has me trapped in Zo's world and won’t let me out! I don’t want out!"~Damaris, Blogger @ Good Choice Reading

Minotaur.v3
“Where shall I start?” asked Minotaur.

Ovid made an expansive gesture with both hands. “Where else but the beginning of course.”

Minotaur nodded his huge head. “Yes,” he said. “Yes,” his eyes already glazing over with the weight of thousand year old memories. And then he began.

So begins the story of Asterion, later known as Minotaur, the supposed half bull creature of Greek legend. Recorded by the famous Roman poet, Ovid, Asterion tells of his boyhood in Crete under the cruel hand of his stepfather Minos, his adventures with his friend, Theseus, and his growing love for the beautiful Phaedra. And of course what really happened in the labyrinth.

This is the true story of the Minotaur.

Stonefire Dragons Reading Order:
Sacrificed to the Dragon
Seducing the Dragon
Revealing the Dragons
Healed by the Dragon
Reawakening the Dragon

About the Author:  Jessie Donovan wrote her first story at age five, and after discovering the Dragonriders of Pern series by Anne McCaffrey in junior high, realized that people actually wanted to read stories like those floating around inside her head. From there on out, she was determined to tap into her over-active imagination and write a book someday.

After living abroad for five years and earning degrees in Japanese, Anthropology, and Secondary Education, she buckled down and finally wrote her first full-length book. While that story will never see the light of day, it laid the world-building groundwork of what would become her debut paranormal romance, Blaze of Secrets.

Jessie loves to interact with readers. When not reading or traipsing around some foreign country on a shoestring, can often be found on Facebook and Twitter.

The one thing you'll find in all of Jessie's stories are strong, capable women and the people who love them.

The cover is just beautiful as always.

This is the fourth serial set in this series.  This is the first part of this serial.  The serial is not complete at this time.  A serial must be read in order to have the complete story and make sense.  Each part does end in a cliffhanger, so if this bothers you I would wait until all 4 parts are published.  While you don’t have to read the other sets before reading this one, I highly recommend that you do because you really get to know all the characters and how they interact with each other, and there definitely is synergy involved meaning all of the parts add up to more when they are all read rather than only reading one set.  Jessie happens to be my favorite serial series writer because she does it so masterfully.  Her dragon series is definitely one of my favorite series, and I own most of it, and if it is missing right now, it will be added later :)

This is Kai and Jane’s story (his favorite reporter)!  He is the typical alpha dragon, and since he is head Protector for his clan, he expects when he barks out an order that everyone will obey.  Jane has experience with bossy men, and she does things her way.  She is sassy, brave, and fun.  The chemistry between them is sizzling.  This part is setting up their story, and they are both trying to track down the Hunters and for different reasons.  Not much in the way of action, but tons of background on both and plenty of those inner dragon arguments that I love :)  I can’t wait for the next part :)

I highly recommend this series to any dragon or shifter fan because you will definitely enjoy this awesome series!!

Tracy Tam doesn't really believe in Santa Claus, at least not like the rest of us do. She also doesn't believe that Santa can possibly deliver all of those presents in one night, to children around the world, without a little help from science. A flying sleigh can only be powered by jet engines, after all, and Santa’s magical abilities can only be the result of altered DNA. How else could he know what every little girl and boy wants for Christmas and who has been naughty or nice? In order to test her theories, Tracy sneaks onto Santa’s sleigh then ends up at Santa Command, where a team of (gasp!) humans monitor Santa’s big night. When Tracy attempts to hack into their computers, she accidentally introduces a virus into the system. As a result, three states get knocked out of sync with the rest of the world (oops!). Santa won't be able to deliver all the presents in time! Now, Tracy must fix time and help Santa, but she has no idea how. How can a girl who doesn't believe help Santa and save Christmas before it's too late? With a little Christmas magic, of course!

Lucas MacKenzie eBook Final
Lucas Mackenzie has got the best job of any 10 year old boy. He travels from city-to-city as part of the London Midnight Ghost Show, scaring unsuspecting show-goers year round. Performing comes naturally to Lucas and the rest of the troupe, who’ve been doing it for as long as Lucas can remember.
But there’s something Lucas doesn’t know.
Like the rest of Luca’s friends, he’s dead. And for some reason, Lucas can’t remember his former life, his parents or friends. Did he go to school? Have a dog? Brothers and sisters?
If only he could recall his former life, maybe even reach out to his parents, haunt them.
When a ghost hunter determines to shut the show down, Lucas realizes the life he has might soon be over. And without a connection to his family, he will have nothing. There’s little time and Lucas has much to do. Can he win the love of Columbine, the show’s enchanting fifteen-year-old mystic? Can he outwit the forces of life and death that thwart his efforts to find his family?
Keep the lights on! Lucas Mackenzie’s coming to town.
